Lately it seems like it is becoming more and more difficult to distinguish between the many (and I do mean MANY) compact point and shoot digital cameras that are everywhere. With that in mind, Olympus has just announced a couple of new cameras. Surprise! They are compact point and shooters.

The FE-5020 will feature a 5x zoom, the FE-4000 has 4x, and the FE-26 has 3x. Each camera has a 12 megapixel sensor and a 2.7 inch display. Moving up to the Mju line (we’re still not sure how to pronounce that) we have the mju 7010 that sports a 7x optical zoom, not bad for a point and shooter. It too will have a 12 megapixel sensor and 2.7 inch screen.

The new models are due out in August. Although we don’t have prices yet. We guess that these average cameras will also carry average prices.

It's about the colors, Brian, THE COLORS! I think mju is pronounced 'am joo,' like Lolcat and 1337 (leetspeak) combined to form the ultimate meme language. Usage: Mju haz teh cheezburger? Translation: Do you have the cheeseburger?
