New Panasonic GF-1 Resembles E-P1, Adds Flash
It seems Panasonic liked Olympus’s E-P1 enough to make one of their own. The Lumix GF1 appears to be the same size as the E-P1 and adds a built in flash and new lenses.
The GF1 will shoot 12.1 megapixels, record 720p video with HDMI out and cost $900. Of course the biggest difference between the two is the flash. The flash for the E-P1 costs $200 and makes it somewhat less portable. It is nice to see it integrated into the GF1.
The GF1 also has a higher resolution screen, which is nice since you don't have the option of viewing your subjects through a viewfinder.
The new GF1 should be available in October for $900.
