Even though it looks like it belongs in the sleek and slim category, the Canon Powershot Sd870 IS packs all the features and functionality that you would expect from a standard digital camera. The picture quality is great, with several features for improving your point-and-shoot photos. The camera also has a simple button and menu system that allows you to navigate the options easily. The Canon Powershot Sd870 IS has an 8 Megapixel resolution, which doesn’t sound like much when compared to some of the 12 Megapixel competitors. But 8 Megapixels is more than enough resolution for the average user, and the Canon Powershot Sd870 IS doesn’t disappoint. The images are crisp and detailed. The camera also has a nice 3 inch LCD display screen, bigger than the screens in most standard cameras. The screen makes it much easier to use the menu system and view your pictures. Experts loved the image quality of the Canon Powershot Sd870 IS. While they lauded the low light performance of the camera, they were disappointed when it came to the manual exposure controls. Consumers enjoyed the large display screen and the cameras accurate ISO capabilities. If you need a reliable camera to for point-and-shoot photography that can also handle some more sophisticated shots, the Canon Powershot Sd870 IS will serve you well.

This camera has the perfect size for a point and shoot camera. The to go from off to ready to shoot is minimal. It has a very solid feel (not junky like some of the cheaper cameras). The IS works flawlessly and even with IS on, the camera gets very good...
Battery life is pretty good. That's important since the camera doesn't have an optical viewfinder (OVF) which means the LCD needs to be on all the time. On that note, I haven't missed the OVF yet....
awesome camera in term of image quality and built. It feel firms and the image output is like no others. The SD line of Canon is famous for years now and this is the latest of its predecessors....
