You may have been hearing rumors about an EOS 7D coming from Canon, and if that excites you, or you really really need 18MP in your DSLR, we’ve got good news for you. The Canon EOS 7D appears to be real and we’ve got the rundown on specs, too.

You read that right, this thing has some serious pixel overkill. The EOS 7D can shoot 18MP at up to 8 frames per second and with an ISOP from 100 to 6400. And then there’s also a special 12800 ISO mode, you know, for those extreme cases.

Also included is a 3-inch LCD screen (920,000 dot resolution), dual DIGIC 4 processors, and a viewfinder with a built-in digital level. The leak also mentioned the 7D would have the HD video capabilities found in the 5D, but there’s no more info on whether it will be the same, better, fantastic, etc.
