Canon Announces New Camera Lineup with Pricing

Canon announced its latest line of non digital SLR cameras. The specs look pretty awesome. The high end model, the SX1 IS, will even record full 1080p high definition video. There are 10 new models total, with prices and specs below:



  • SX1 IS: 10 megapixels, 1080p movie mode, 20x wide-angle optical zoom, 2.8-inch LCD; coming April for about $600

  • SX200 IS: 12.1 megapixels, 720p movie mode, 12x optical zoom, 3-inch LCD; coming end of march for $350

  • D10: 12.1 megapixels, 3x optical zoom; coming early May for $330.

  • SD970 IS: 12.1 megapixels, 720p movie mode, 5x optical zoom, 3-inch LCD; coming mid-April for $380

  • SD960 IS: 12.1 megapixel, 720p movie mode, 4x optical zoom, 2.8-inch LCD; available in silver, blue, pink and gold; coming early March for $330

  • SD780 IS: 12.1 megapixels, 720p movie mode, 3x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD; available in black, red, silver, and gold; coming mid-March for $280

  • SD1200 IS: 10 megapixels; available in dark gray, blue, pink, green, light gray and orange; coming mid-March for $230

  • A200 IS: 12.1 megapixels, 6x optical zoom, 3-inch LCD; coming early April for $250

  • A1100 IS: 12 megapixels, 4x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD; available in gray, blue, pink and green; coming in March for about $200

  • A480: 10 megapixels, 3.3x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD; available in red, blue, silver, and black; coming in March for $130
