Sony CyberShot T900 at PMA Gets Plenty of Attention
Retreating from some of the news concerning multi-thousand dollar lenses, 25 megapixel professional cameras and ultra-rugged bodied cameras, some of the most exciting news this year is happening in the compact digital camera category. Well, at least from the perspective of an everyday hobbyist like myself. There were at least ten new compacts on the floor in the big retailer booths today, but the Sony CyberShot T900 took all the attention. The CyberShot T900 is as thin as a wallet (15 mm) and features a handy sliding lens shield that turns the camera on when opened. The LCD screen on the back doubles as a viewing space for previewing and modifying photos. Thanks to its touchscreen capability, the 3.5-inch LCD screen comprises the entirety of the reverse side of the body and works as an interface for organizing photos, changing settings and navigating the cameras menus.

The CyberShot T900 does double duty as a camcorder too, capturing video at 720p. In terms of audio, the T900 records stereo sound.
The CyberShot T900 does have some impressive specs. But, I have to say it was quite obvious that more than the feature set was impressing the crowds today. The CyberShot has a tasteful, yet aggressive look that strikes a balance between high fashion and high function. We all stood there gawking because we all wanted one for ourselves and we're pretty sure after looking at these photos you'll want one too.
