Features
With only a few exceptions, the Samsung DualView TL220 has the same impressive feature set as the Samsung DualView TL220. For more complete details, we invite you to take a look at our review of that camera.
The most noticeable difference between the TL220 and the TL225 is the size of the main display screen on the rear of the camera. It’s 3.0-inches, diagonal measure, on the TL220 compared to 3.5-inches on the TL225. While that seems like a rather trivial difference, it does mean that the smaller screen is only about ¾ the size of the larger one. More significant than the screen size, however, is the resolution. The TL225’s screen boasts 1.152-megapixel resolution while the TL220’s is just 0.230-megapixels. That makes for an image that is much less sharp and detailed. Still, it is a full touchscreen incorporating all of the camera’s easy-to-use options and menus. The TL220 also has a plastic back cover compared to the tougher aluminum one of the TL225.
The other feature lacking on the The Samsung DualView TL220 compared to the TL225 is the HDMI for HD playback and improved audio quality. The TL225 output is limited to its USB 2.0 connector which isn’t half bad but is less desirable than the HDMI option.
Summary
The Samsung DualView TL220 offers most of the excellent features of the DualView TL225 at a more economical price. Nonetheless, for the rather small cost difference, we’d have to opt for the advantages of the TL225.
