Samsung proves they know their electronics with their compact digital camera, the Samsung DualView TL220. This image capturing device is a close cousin to the higher rated but slightly more expensive Samsung DualViewTL225. With only a few exceptions, the Samsung DualView TL220 has the same impressive feature set as the Samsung DualView TL220. For more complete details, we invite you to take a look at our review of that product or if this does not sound like the product you are looking for, visit our compact digital camera site for more side-by-side comparisons and objective reviews.
The most noticeable difference between the TL220 and the TL225 is the size of the main display screen on the rear of the device. It is 3.0-inches, diagonal measure, on the TL220 compared to 3.5-inches on the TL225. While that seems like a rather trivial difference, it does mean the smaller screen is only 3/4 the size of the larger one. More significant than the screen size, however, is the resolution. The TL225’s screen boasts 1.152-megapixel resolution while the TL220’s is just 0.230-megapixels. That makes for an image that is much less sharp and detailed. Still, it is a full touchscreen incorporating all of the product’s easy-to-use options and menus. The TL220 also has a plastic back cover compared to the tougher aluminum one of the TL225.
The other feature lacking on the Samsung DualView TL220 compared to the TL225 is the HDMI for HD playback and improved audio quality. The TL225 output is limited to its USB 2.0 connector which isn’t half bad but is less desirable than the HDMI option.
This Samsung product features smart auto. This mode adjusts your image components such as color, brightness and motion to produce high-quality images. There are 16 different modes available to match the setting for each of your shots. Also, advanced dual image stabilization is available on this Samsung product to enhance the photo quality. This feature prevents those photos that are blurry and unclear from shaky hands or a fast moving subject.
Small additional features are added to this image capturing device. A recycling bin allows you to go back to those deleted photos that you didn’t mean to delete. A frame guide makes it easy to get that shot you want. Also an album is available to make it easier to view and organize each of your photos.
The short battery life is one of the major drawbacks on this compact digital camera. This image capturing device has the ability to capture a measly 180 shots on a single charge. This is enough for a small vacation or a birthday party, but it doesn’t provide the photographer with a lot of opportunity to capture numerous photos. However, this Samsung product does provide 55MB of internal memory. This is several megabytes more than the Samsung DualView TL220’s competitors.
The Samsung DualView TL220 offers most of the excellent features of the DualView TL225 at a more economical price. Nonetheless, for the rather small cost difference, we’d have to opt for the advantages of the TL225.
Pros
The dual LCD touchscreen enhances this compact digital camera.
Cons
This compact digital camera has a lower resolution than competitors.

The features offered on this camera are ideal but are not as good as the TL225.
